Inner West Sydney Medicare Local (IWSML) took over the operations of Central Sydney GP Network in July 2012, and building on Central Sydney GP Network’s strengths, has an expanded scope of action that includes new allied health and community programs.
CSGPN is a one third member of the new Inner West Sydney Medicare Local.
Medicare Locals are newly established primary health care organisations designed to coordinate primary health care delivery and tackle local health care needs and service gaps. They will drive improvements in primary health care and ensure that services are better tailored to meet the needs of local communities.
Inner West Sydney Medicare Local (IWSML) is a not for profit company with three owners:

CSGPN currently has a board of four General Practitioner directors, elected by Members at CSGPN’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Friday 16 November 2012.

Future CSGPN boards will consist of four Directors elected by Ordinary Members of CSGPN and up to two persons appointed by the elected Directors.

The CSGPN area comprises the local government areas of Ashfield, Burwood, Canada Bay, Canterbury, Leichhardt, Marrickville, Strathfield and the southern and western statistical local areas of the Sydney local government area.*
Ordinary Membership
General Practitioners, Aboriginal Health Workers, Practice Managers or Practice Nurses whose practice is in the Central Sydney GP Network area* are eligible to apply for Ordinary Membership.
Associate Membership
The following are eligible to apply:
(a) General Practitioners, Aboriginal Health Workers, Practice Managers or Practice Nurses whose practice is outside the Central Sydney GP Network area*
(b) Any person, body corporate or other association whom the Directors in their discretion consider suitable for associate membership of the Company; or
(c) a GP Registrar (no application is required for GP Registrar Associate membership if practising in the Central Sydney GP Network area)

Financial Members as at 30 June 2012
As at 30 June 2012 CSGPN had 492 financial Ordinary members and 88 financial Associate members from surrounding areas. We also had 13 GP Registrar members.
FEES
Ordinary: Initial fee $88 per annum (to renew $66) subscription year is 1 July to 30 June
Associate: Initial fee $77 per annum (to renew $55) subscription year is 1 July to 30 June
