About CSGPN

About Central Sydney GP Network (CSGPN)

The Central Sydney GP Network Ltd (CSGPN) is part of a network of Divisions of General Practice throughout Australia, funded by Department of Health & Ageing to provide support and resources for general practitioners with the aim of achieving health outcomes for the community that would not otherwise be achieved on an individual GP basis.

    Our core programs address:
  • access;
  • prevention and early intervention;
  • an increased focus on population health and the better management of chronic disease;
  • education
    Other programs delivered are:
  • Aged Care Access Initiative (ACAI)
  • Closing the Gap - Improving Indigenous Access to Mainstream Primary Care
  • General Practice Immunisation Incentive Scheme (GPII)

For a full list of our funded programs, go to Programs section of this website.

The Divisions/Networks infrastructure also provides a valuable mechanism for informing and educating GPs and practice staff about changes to programs, services and new initiatives for continuous quality improvement. It allows GPs a representative voice with local health services planning and other health agencies.

Organisation / Governance

The Central Sydney Division of General Practice Ltd was a registered company established in 2000. Prior to this, it was part of the local Area Health Service. The company changed its name to CSGPN at the September 2007 EGM resulting from the amalgamation of the former Central Sydney and Canterbury Divisions of General Practice. CSGPN is Company Limited by Guarantee and also a registered charity.

The company is managed by a Board of Directors, currently consisting of six elected GP Directors and two appointed Directors and has a current staff of 32. Elections are conducted every 12 months by a postal vote of the CSGPN Ordinary Members. View Organisation Chart here.
