There are now several new events that CSGPN will be running that were not on the CPD calendar that you received in May 2011. They are:

Neurology - a large group workshop to be held at the Burwood Function Centre on Wednesday 26 October. Presenters will be: Drs Stephen Redell, Arun Arguwal and Ben Jonker and topics include:
Neurological Examination
Parkinson’s Update and

Missed the Hepatology ALM held in May 2011? Due to popular demand the ASHM developed Hepatology ALM is being repeated in November 2011.
Session I – hepatitis B
Session II - hepatitis C
Session II - liver disease

Please ensure that you contact us if you have registered for an event and are unable to attend. This assists us with catering and preparation for the event as well as enabling your colleagues on the waiting list an opportunity to attend the workshop.

Australian Point Of Care Practitioners’ Network
The Australian Point of Care Practitioners’ Network (APPN) provides online training, certification and professional development for all Point of Care Testing (PoCT) operators.

This program is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing.

Visit their website at www.appn.net.au and register (free), to gain access to useful resources such as:
Scoping PoCT includes useful information on; selection of analyser, data management, instruments available in Australia
Information on sample collection – arterial, venous and capillary
Forms for documentation
Clinical and technical resources on anticoagulation INR, Diabetes and Lipids including on-line training videos and clinical presentations
On-line competencies for all modules developed and very shortly CPD points for GP’s and Nurses
Certificate can be printed on successful completion of a competency test.
