Free Personal Alarm Systems available for elderly and disabled patients

Lisa Maude, Immunisation, Intellectual Disability Officer - Wednesday 01 June, 2011

Free Personal Alarm Systems available for elderly and disabled patients Inner West Neighbour Aid is providing a personal alarm system for elderly and disabled people who are financially disadvantaged living in the Canada Bay, Strathfield, Burwood or Ashfield Local Government Areas.

The personal alarms will be provided and installed free of charge. However, a monthly monitoring rate will need to be covered by the client. This rate has been negotiated at a significantly reduced rate of $80.00 per quarter which equates to less than $1.00 per day.

This service provides trained care call operators who are available 24 hours a day to handle emergency calls. The equipment enables the operators to respond immediately in emergency situations. When the emergency alarm is activated it provides the name and address of the client as well as details of an appointed contact person.

This service is currently being provided through Inner West Neighbour Aid at Croydon Park. If you have patients who would benefit from these devices please call Claire Urban in Social Support on 9799 5099.
