HIV Medicine events in May

CSGPN is hosting a fantastic ALM in May. This activity has been developed by Australasian Society for HIV Medicine (ASHM). Sessions will cover hepatitis B and C and liver disease. Presenters include Dr Simone Strasser, Dr Alice Lee and Dr David Koorey. The ALM will focus on:

  • Testing at risk patients and interpreting test results
  • Natural history and disease progression
  • Clinical management in primary health care settings
  • Efficacy of antiviral therapy

ASHM has also notified us of a second ALM that they have developed and are running on Saturday May 14 @ the Citigate Sebel in Surry Hills. The activity is titled: STIs and Viral Hepatitis: Engaging your Aboriginal Clients. Presenters are Dr Penny Abbott, Prof Bob Batey, Mr Rob Monaghan and Mr James Ward and the ASLM will focus on:

  • Culturally appropriate methods to engage with Aboriginal clients in STIs, hepatitis B and C issues, including sexual history taking and risk assessment
  • Epidemiology, screening, serology and clinical management of STIs, hepatitis C and hepatitis B and associated issues in all patients, especially those identifying themselves as Aboriginals
